Aldenham School
Beacon Hockey Camps are a new brand of hockey camps that will support players' development in a fun and engaging way.
On the pitch, they'll strike a balance between technical work and skills challenges, alongside small-sided, game-based scenarios that force players to think creatively and solve problems, helping prepare them for the challenges they'll face in real hockey matches. Off the pitch (in the lunch break), we'll use video clips to support learning and inspire players, as well as fun tasks and games to keep players thinking about aspects of their game. In all, the camps should be a full-on two-day immersion into hockey and the take-aways should be numerous and visible by the end of the two days.
Beacon Hockey has been set-up by Kiran Raichura, who has been Head of Junior Hockey at West Herts HC for several years. In the last few years Kiran has been lucky enough to work with some great coaches and amazing young players, who have all been working towards their dreams of playing for England and ultimately, GB, at the Olympics. His coaching journey has seen him coach at Northwood Performance Centre and the England Hockey Futures Cup, while he has also observed some of his charges training and playing fixtures as part of junior England squads.
Some of those players will be coaching alongside Kiran at the Easter camp, alongside other coaches who have supported players to reach the very top. They and Kiran are all really excited to get going and help your youngsters raise their game!
We're offering an earlybird ticket until 8th March, which is £50 for a single day or £90 for both days, with all players receiving a free sweat-wicking, performance t-shirt. Tickets are available for goalkeepers (limited to 8) and outfield players (limited to 28), aged 12 to 17, with a reasonable level of initial ability. (Development Centre or above - please email beaconhockeycamps@gmail.com if you are unsure about this). The camp will be held at Aldenham School in Elstree.
